The Science behind Skin Needling
Skin needling with a titanium dermaroller causes the formation of miniscule pin prick wounds in the skin tissue. Each of those pin prick wounds in the broken skin leads to new collagen being laid down in the upper dermal layer of the skin. A course of 4 skin needling sessions produce new collagen up to 1 year after the treatments.
The concept of skin needling is based on the skin's natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns, and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as producing new collagen and elastin.
